Dougherty Lumber's warehouse inventory, one of the most comprehensive in the business, carries the basic common grades of boards right up to massive Douglas fir timbers.
Dougherty also provides the finest domestic and imported hardwood species. Always available are the many grades and sizes of domestic softwoods. Dougherty carries a thorough inventory of sanded and unsanded plywood, as well as medium and high density overlaid plywood.
Dougherty Lumber operates a mill which can process the largest timbers and perform the smallest detail work, custom-cutting lumber and plywood to exact specifications and quantities.
The Dougherty Lumber Company opened shop in 1931 in an old streetcar barn. Today the firm, with 180,000 square feet of office and warehouse facilities situated on Cleveland's southeast side, has evolved into being Ohio's most complete lumber distribution center.
Since Mr. Dougherty's death in 1976, Dougherty Lumber has been directed by president Marcus Hanna, who has now been in the lumber business for 36 years.
Dougherty understands consumers' needs for overnight deliveries, and it operates a large fleet of trucks for these purposes. Many of the company's trucks have either roll-off bodies or tilting flatbeds, so that materials can be dropped off at jobsites. With only a few exceptions, all of Dougherty Lumber Company's inventory is kept in enclosed buildings. Dougherty Lumber Company can supply customers with anywhere from a few boards to railroad carloads.
